What's the difference between Quick Escape and Golden Glow?
Both are $69 plus tax and both take about fifteen minutes. The difference is the solution: Quick Escape uses an express formula that develops in a few hours so you can rinse the same day, while Golden Glow uses a classic formula that develops overnight into a slightly deeper, longer-wearing color. If you have an event tonight, take Quick Escape. If you have a night to spare, take Golden Glow.
How is this different from a salon spray tan?
At a salon you get a standard solution and whoever is on shift that day. Here, the solution is custom-blended to your undertone and skin type, and it's the same artist every time. The room is private and unhurried, closer to a pause in your day than an appointment you rush through. That's the difference between a spray tan and your spray tan.
Is tax included in the price?
Both services are $69 before Connecticut sales tax. Tax is added at checkout at the state rate of 6.35%, bringing the total to $73.38. There is no separate local sales tax in Connecticut, so the total is the same wherever you're travelling from.
Will it look orange?
No. Orange comes from the wrong shade on the wrong undertone, usually applied by someone who never asked. We do a consultation before anything is sprayed and blend to your skin. The bronze you see immediately after is a cosmetic guide color that rinses off. Your actual tan is underneath it.
How long does it last?
Seven to ten days for most people. How you treat it matters more than which service you pick: moisturize twice a day, keep showers short and cooler, pat dry instead of rubbing, and stay out of chlorine. Skip all of that and you're looking at four or five days.
What do I wear during the appointment?
Whatever makes you feel most comfortable. Most clients wear dark underwear or a swimsuit, while others choose to go without - it's entirely your choice. The studio is completely private, and your comfort is always the priority.
Keep in mind that anything you wear during your spray tan will create tan lines, and light-colored fabrics may pick up some cosmetic bronzer (guide color).
Is it safe? What's in the solution?
The active ingredient is DHA, a sugar-derived compound that reacts with the very top layer of your skin. It doesn't penetrate further and has been in cosmetic use for decades. The solutions used here are vegan, cruelty-free, and paraben-free. If you have a known sensitivity, mention it when you book and a patch test can be arranged.
Can I get a spray tan while pregnant?
Topical DHA is widely considered fine during pregnancy, and plenty of clients come in through all three trimesters. That said, this isn't medical advice. Check with your doctor or midwife first, and let us know when you arrive so we can keep the room well ventilated and skip the face if you'd prefer.
Why do you need my credit card to book?
It's a one-person studio, so a missed appointment isn't a slow hour. It's the entire slot, and someone else who wanted it. Your card is stored securely and not charged at booking. It's only used if you cancel inside 24 hours or don't show up.
What if I need to reschedule?
Use the link in your confirmation email any time up to 24 hours before and move yourself to another slot at no charge. Inside 24 hours, message directly. If the slot can be filled, the fee usually gets waived.
Where exactly is the studio?
It's a private studio in Westport. Because it's attached to a home, the address isn't published publicly. Once your booking comes through and Christine has confirmed it, she'll send you the address and parking details directly. It's a two-minute drive from most of central Westport.
What if I've never had a spray tan before?
Perfect! Just let me know when you book. We'll chat about your desired look and choose a shade that complements your skin tone and comfort level. First-time clients often think they want to go darker than they actually do, so I typically recommend starting with a natural glow - you can always build deeper next time. My goal is for you to leave feeling confident, never overdone.
